1. Who we are
Lefty Software LLC d/b/a Lefty Stringing ("Lefty Stringing", "we", "us", "our") restrings and services tennis rackets. These terms cover the work we do for you. Leaving a racket with us means you accept them.
2. Leaving a racket with us
When you drop off a racket we record your name, your contact details, and the racket's make and model, so we can tell it apart from everyone else's and give it back to the right person. Each racket gets a label with a code on it.
You confirm the racket is yours, or that you have the owner's permission to have it strung.
3. Turnaround
Standard turnaround is one working day from drop-off. Busy periods and unusual string requests can take longer. If we expect to be late we will tell you.
Any date we give you is an estimate, not a guarantee.
4. String and tension
We string to the setup you ask for. If you do not specify one, we use the setup recorded from your last job on that racket.
You are responsible for the setup you choose. A tension or string outside the range the manufacturer recommends for your frame can shorten its life, and we will string to your instructions anyway if that is what you want.
5. Your frame
Stringing puts a frame under load. We inspect every racket before we start and will tell you if we see cracks, grommet damage, or wear that concerns us.
- We are not responsible for a frame that fails because of age, prior damage, or a defect we could not reasonably see.
- We are responsible for damage we cause through our own error, and will restring free of charge and discuss possible replacement or financial compensation.
- Old grommets can break during stringing. Replacing them can be performed for a separate $5 USD labor fee + the price of the replacement grommets, assuming that replacement grommets can still be sourced.
If you are unsure about a frame, ask us before we start.
6. Prices and payment
Prices are as quoted when you drop off. Payment is due when you collect, unless we have agreed otherwise. We accept cash or credit card payments. Card payments are handled by Stripe on a secure page; we never see your full card number.
Sales tax is added where it applies.
7. Refunds
Once a racket is strung the work is done and cannot be undone, so we do not refund completed jobs. In the rare case where we got your setup wrong, tell us within 7 days and we will make it right at no charge.
8. Collecting your racket
We will let you know when your racket is ready. Please collect it within 30 days.
After 30 days we may treat an uncollected racket as abandoned and dispose of it, and you remain liable for the cost of the work. We will try to reach you first using the contact details you gave us. We don't want your racket, so please pick it up!
9. Your account and your racket's label
If you create an account with us you are responsible for keeping your sign-in details to yourself.
The label on your racket carries a link to that racket's public page, showing its string setup and stringing history. Anyone holding your racket, or holding the link, can open that page. It does not show your name or your contact details or any other personally identifiable information.
10. Liability
Nothing here limits liability we cannot limit by law. Otherwise our liability for any job is limited to what you paid us for that job.
11. Transactional text messages
If you ask to receive text messages and complete our opt-in process, Lefty Stringing may send you transactional messages about your racket service, including service questions, job status, completion and pickup notices, and receipts.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help, or call 985-630-9070. Consent to text messages is not a condition of purchasing or receiving our services. We do not send marketing or promotional messages through this program.
After you reply STOP, we will send no further messages unless you complete a new opt-in.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page, and the date above is when it last changed.
